Why Bloodborne is Great, not my style...

Everything about Bloodborne should be right up my alley. Granted, I've never played any of the Souls series, not even Demon's Souls way back when. So technically Bloorborne is my first Souls game, despite being a spiritual successor and not actually in the Souls franchise. All the same, I enjoy everything it bring: the intricate, challenging combat; the pattern based enemies and bosses that continue to surprise; the visuals that astound. The only thing I don't jive with is the setting.

I hear some people calling blasphemy already. I know some people prefer the dark Victorian setting to the fantasy world in Dark Souls but I'm not one. I like the Victorian setting as much as the next guy, but something in my brain just says "Its cool, but something about sword and sorcery fantasies will always be better."

So of course you might be wondering why I even bothered to get Bloodborne in the first place, why not just get Dark Souls? Honestly, I'm asking myself that too. Why did I choose to play Bloodborne? Well, I think I was looking for something that'll give me a challenge, but for whatever reason, I didn't want to get Dark Souls 2. I don't know what held me back, I'm certain I would've enjoyed Dark Souls just as much, if not more than Bloodborne.

All that said, I don't regret my decision to try Bloodborne. Its a great game, great visuals, combat, diverse and terrifying enemies, weapons that are a load of fun to toy around with, and an enormous area to explore. Somehow I managed to find, and get my ass kicked by Father Gascoigne before I found the Cleric Beast. I managed to defeat Father G, with some help from another player, and eventually made my way to defeating the Cleric Beast afterward.

I am liking my time in Bloodborne, but I can't help but feel that there's something missing, something that I can't find in Bloodborne. Still, I'm going to go as far as I can before rage causes me to snap a controller in half. I might need a break after that, but until then, I'll go as far as I can!
